Ph.D. stands for Doctor of Philosophy. The Duration of the Ph.D. programme is - Minimum 2 years from the date of registration (3 years for External candidates) & Maximum 5-6 years. The Ph.D. is pursued by students after obtaining a master’s degree in related field from any recognized central or state/private/deemed university. Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate should have a Master Degree or any other equivalent qualification with at least 55% (45% to 50% for all reserved category candidates) marks in aggregate from a recognized university or institute.
• Candidates who have passed the M.Phil. Degree in the relevant subject is also eligible to apply for Ph.D. Admission.

Ph.D. Course Duration

• Ph.D. Programme Shall be for a maximum Duration of Three Year, Including Course Work and a Maximum of Six Year.
• The Period of Active Service Spent on Pursuing Research Degree i.e., for Acquiring Ph.D. degree Simultaneously Without Taking any Kind of leave may be counted as Teaching Experience for the Purpose of Direct Recruitment/Promotion to the Post of Associate Professor and Above.

Ph.D. Admission Process

Admission to the Ph.D. Course is done on the basis of performance of the candidates in the entrance test and followed by the personal interview. Candidates who have passed the Master of Philosophy are not required to appear in the entrance test, such candidates are selected on the basis of Personal Interview.
